Living together. Living better.

The federal government continues to support businesses and the self-employed affected by the pandemic with a budget of more than 126 billion in aid provided so far.

After Überbrückungshilfe III, Überbrückungshilfe IV will also be granted until March 31, 2022.

Small and medium-sized enterprises that have had to limit or stop their activities can apply for this subvention as well as freelancers and employees in the field of arts and culture. The money provided depends on the company’s costs; the maximum limit is ten million euros per month. Companies that are particularly affected by the restrictions will receive an additional subsidy.

There are different conditions to be met: companies with an annual invoicing of up to €750 million will be able to apply if they suffer a loss of at least 30% in one month compared to the same period in 2019, or if they experience a drop in sales of at least 50% between December 2021 and January 2022. The application can be submitted through the portal if a competent person submits it: a tax advisor, an auditor, or an accountant. Applications can be submitted until March 31, 2022, for the Überbrückungshilfe III Plus, while the deadline for aids that have already expired will be extended to December 31, 2022. Christmas markets will be considered for support too.

Self-employed workers will be eligible for financial assistance, in particular artists and people working in the field of art as long as they have not obtained and used other subsidies. The amount paid in this case is 1,500 euros per month.
